Imran, Sheikh Rashid to address rally in Rawalpindi today

RAWALPINDI – The Awami Muslim League (AML) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will stage a rally in Rawalpindi today (Sunday).

The senior leadership of both parties would address the crowd at Liaquat National Bagh where around twenty thousand chairs have been placed.

The site, Liaquat Bagh is the same where Pakistan Peoples Party leader Benazir Bhutto delivered her last speech on December 27, 2007.

Apart from addresses by both Imran Khan and Sheikh Rasheed fireworks display to celebrate the independence day will begin at 12.01 am sharp.

Strict security arrangements have been made at the venue, with only a single entry and exit point for the public.

The rally is being staged a day after the former premier Nawaz Sharif winded up his GT Road power show that started from Islamabad on Wednesday and ended with an explosive address at Data Darbar Lahore.

Sheikh Rashid’s Message

Awami Muslim League president Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in a video message on Friday expressed that it was necessary for masses to attend the gathering.
