FIR lodged against FixIt founder Alamgir Khan for throwing sewage water at CM House

KARACHI – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmaker and activist Alamgir Khan was booked on Wednesday for throwing sewage water at the gate of Sindh Chief Minister House.

Police said a first information report (FIR) has been lodged against Alamgir and his supporters at Civil Lines Station. Some of the supporters were also detained, however, they were released on bail later.

According to the FIR, the FixIt founder along with others reached the CM House’s residence located in the red zone on motorcycles and unloaded dirty water and garbage from a rickshaw.

The report stated that entering and blocking traffic flow in the red zone was a criminal violation under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC).

On Monday, the PTI MNA displayed his resentment against the non-resolution of Karachi’s civic problems. Alamgir along with his supporters collected sewage in buckets and splashed it at the gate of the CM House.

Khan rose to prominence with his ‘FixIt’ campaign to cover unsealed manholes in the metropolis. He also secured victory in NA-243 by-elections.
