Riyadh – Saudi King Salman on Tuesday has reiterated to support the efforts for legitimate rights of Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, Radio Pakistan reported.
He expressed this resolve during a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Riyadh, who is on a two-day visit to the kingdom.
During the meeting, they also reviewed the latest developments in the Palestinian territories.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, held talks with King Salman in a bid to gain support to combat a proposed US peace plan, especially as Washington had formally recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
King Salman and Mr Abbas also discussed Palestine’s current political situation.
