Peshawar school attack mastermind Umar Mansour killed in US drone strike: ISPR

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Umar Mansour, the mastermind of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar massacre has been killed in a drone strike, confirms the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.

Commander Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan General John Nicholson called Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and confirmed death Umar Narai alias Khailfa Umar, also known as Khalid Khurasani, DG ISPR Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa said.

Umar, who fled to Afghanistan after a military operation was launched in the tribal region of Khyber to nab him, was killed within two months of him being designated a global terrorist by the US State Department.

A drone strike in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province on July 9 reportedly killed Umar Mansur, along with four others.

Mansur, alias Aurangzeb, was a member of the Tariq Geedar Group responsible for the 144 deaths in the Army Public School, the Peshawar Airport and the Bacha Khan University.
