Shehbaz telephones Britain s new PM Theresa May, invites her to visit Pakistan

LAHORE (web Desk) – Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday called Britain’s new PM Theresa May, congratulated her for holding PM’s office and invited her to visit Pakistan on Punjab Government and PM Nawaz Sharif’s behalf.

Theresa May said that conservative party believed in her leadership while Shehbaz expressed his belief and confidence in her leadership and stated that England will be more stable and prosperous than before.

The steely 59-year-old replaced David Cameron, who became the first political casualty of last month’s referendum when he announced his intention to quit hours after the result.

Theresa May is the second woman in the job, following in the steps of fellow Conservative Margaret Thatcher — who was nicknamed the “Iron Lady” and whose decade-long political partnership with President Ronald Reagan helped reshape the global order in the 1980s.
