THE FOOD CORRIDOR: PM hosts lunch in capital as Karachi bleeds

KARACHI (Staff Report) – Where Karachi was bleeding on Wednesday after a deadly attack on a bus in Karachi that claimed 45 lives of innocent people, our foodie Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was seen much focused on the extravagant luncheon in honour of parliamentary leaders during an All Parties Conference (APC).

As per reports, political leaders were gathered at the PM House on Wednesday noon to discuss Pak-China Economic Corridor but the meeting was overshadowed by the gruesome killings in Karachi.

At the outset of the meeting, an MQM representative suggested the premier to shorten the meeting asking him to visit Karachi without any delay.

On this suggestion, PM Nawaz although emphasised on taking majority vote for carrying on with the Economic Corridor presentation, suggested the participants to have their lunch without any further ado.

Such an attitude from the political elite is in contrast to what Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif did.

The army chief cancelled his pre-scheduled three-day visit to Sri Lanka and left for Karachi to have meetings on law and order situation in the metropolis.

PUBLIC RESPONSE

While watching the APC proceedings live on almost all the national media,  people including a few journalists could not control their ’emotional hands’ and tweeted:
