5.4 magnitude earthquake hits Balochistan

QUETTA (Staff Report) – A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck parts of Balochistan on Friday.

Strong tremors were felt in Qila Abdullah, Quetta, Pashin, Makran, Chaman and surrounding areas at 11:59am. The epicentre of the quake was found to be 25km south-west of Qila Abdullah, 10km below the earth’s surface, according to the US Geological Survey.

Following the earthquake, panic gripped citizens as they rushed out of their houses. Local administration has started survey to identify any loss of life during the calamity.

So far, there have been no reports of any loss of life or property in the earthquake-affected area.
