MUMBAI – Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone rules the hearts of millions of not just Indians but people across the globe. The stunner who recently graced the pink carpet of the prestigious MET Gala is widely known for her elegance and the way she carries herself. There is one more fact about the Padmavati which not a lot of people know and one which will make you immensely proud of her.
Does the actress actually have a classic Christian Louboutin pair of shoes named after her? We all remember her much celebrated and larger than life wedding to Ranveer Singh. Padukone donned bespoke Sabyasachi x Louboutin.
Sabya, in an interview with Ambika Anand, spoke at length about DeepVeer’s wedding and spilt some juicy inside deets.
The connoisseur of bridalwear revealed that Deepika is (no prizes for guessing) a very traditional girl. He added, “I remember calling Christian because we both are big fans of her and we love her. And so I told him that we are doing this wedding and you have to do the shoes, and he was like ‘of course.” When he was asked if there is a heel named behind Padukone, he was quick to add that there was on indeed and it was called the “Deepik” heel.
The unique design is currently available in various colours. The shoes come with a whopping price tag of $995 (Rs140,295).
The French designer house had also collaborated with Sabyasachi to design the shoes that Deepika and Ranveer wore for their dream wedding.
Talking about the collaboration, Sabyasachi said, “Deepika is a traditional girl. I remember calling Christian because we both are big fans of her and we love her. And so I told him that we are doing this wedding and you have to do the shoes, and he was like ‘of course.”
On the work front, Padukone is currently filming for Chhapaak. The Meghna Gulzar directorial is based on acid attack victim Laxmi Agarwal’s life. She portrays the role of Malti in the movie. Meanwhile, Ranveer is in Himachal preparing to play Kapil Dev in the Kabir Khan directorial ’83.
