ISLAMABAD (News Desk) – President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Sunday hoisted the national flag here at the Jinnah Convention Centre at an impressive event marking the Independence Day.
Both the leaders attired in black sherwanis unfurled the green and white national flag at 9 am sharp, coinciding with similar events across the country.
Earlier this day, all the traffic across the country came to a halt as the sirens blared at 8:58 am, followed by singing of the national anthem.
The event at the Convention Centre was also attended by Speaker National Assembly, Federal Ministers, Services Chiefs, Diplomats, elite of the city and children.
