Pakistan beat Oman 3-0 in Tri-Nation Hockey opener

MUSCAT – Pakistan defeated Oman in the first match of the Tri-Nation Hockey Tournament Hockey Tournament at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (SQSC) here on Wednesday.

The match began at 7:00pm PST.

Ali Shan (13th minute), Ajaz Ahmad (21st minute) and Shafqat Rasool (45th minute) scored for Pakistan.

Pakistan is a four-time World Cup winners and ranked No 13 in the world. World No 16 Japan is the other team taking part in the event that concludes on February 20.

The three teams will play a double round-robin league with the top two teams advancing to the final.
