QUETTA – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday reiterated his support for Balochistan and said the province was his prime focus, said a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The army chief was apprised that there has been a phenomenal reduction in sectarian killing, while terrorists in desperation were now targeting law enforcement agencies and other soft targets.
“Balochistan is my prime focus and prosperity of people in Balochistan at par with other provinces is the main objective,” COAS said during his visit to the Quetta Garrison.
He also visited the Southern Command headquarters and Frontier Constabulary Balochistan (North) headquarters.
Gen Bajwa appreciated achievements of Army, FC, police, intelligence and other agencies including provincial administration towards improvement of the security situation.

He hailed efforts in socio-economic domain and the considerable willing surrender of Baloch militants in the province.
Later, Gen Bajwa interacted with officers and soldiers and appreciated their morale and motivation. He said that the army is for the people of Pakistan and shall continue to perform their duty with their full support.
Gen Bajwa was received by Commander Southern Command Lt. General Aamer Riaz upon his arrival in Quetta.
