ISLAMABAD – Justice Asif Saeed Khosa on Monday took oath as acting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) after Justice Mian Saqib Nisar left for a 13-day foreign visit.
The oath-taking ceremony was held in the Supreme Court where Justice Gulzar Ahmed administered the oath. The ceremony was attended by judges of the apex court, all advocates general and leaders of Pakistan Bar Council and Supreme Court Bar Association.
Justice Khosa will hold the acting charge until the Nisar returns to the country.
Nisar will attend International Chief Justice Conference in Russia on May 14. He will later visit China to attend a judicial conference.
Justice Nisar took oath as the 25th chief justice of Pakistan On December 31, 2016.
