PAF airstrikes kill 22 Taliban militants in Shawal

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – At least 22 militants were killed on Saturday when Pakistani fighter jets pounded six insurgent hideouts in Shawal, security officials said.

The attacks primarily targeted Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) positions in North Waziristan’s Shawal area, where the military has been mounting an offensive against militant strongholds for more than a year.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, PAF fighter jets precisely hit the Taliban’s hideouts at separate locations in Shawal.

Six of the militants’ hideouts and an unknown number of vehicles were also destroyed in the air strikes, the ISPR added.

It was not possible to independently verify the casualties as journalists are banned from travelling to the remote mountainous area.
