Enemies want to sabotage CPEC by weakening Pakistan: Ahsan Iqbal

NAROWAL – Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that foes of Pakistan were trying to distablise it in order to damage multi-billion dollars project China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Talking to media in Narowal, the minister said that anti-Pakistan elements were hatching conspiracies against the country. He urged all state institutions and political parties to recognise the enemies of Pakistan.

Iqbal added that prosperity and development in the country was the top priority of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

CPEC is the visible and significant part of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s initiative One Belt One Road (OBOR) under which several development projects were started in Pakistan including motorways, Gwadar airport, economic free zones, and energy generation projects.

The project would ensure connectivity of regional countries with China and all Central Asian states, ushering in a new era of development in the region.

Talking about the caretaker setup in Pakistan, he said that the government was seeking suggestion from the opposition for the interim prime minister.
