According to a report by The Economic Times, Bollywood veteran actor Vinod Khanna posthumously received the Dadasaheb Phalke award which is known as the highest honour in cinema.
The actor of ‘Insaaf’ fame died last year after battling advanced bladder cancer since early 2017. The jury of the 65th National Film Awards including film maker Shekhar Kapur decided to award the honour to Khanna. The film maker also expressed his wish to have worked with the legendary actor at least once.

The late 70 year old star was well known for Bollywood hits such as Amar, Akbar, Anthony, Chandni and Insaaf to name a few. The actor turned politician was also a prominent member of India’s political party, BJP.

Besides this great honour, Khanna had also won several great accolades such as the Zee Cine Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2007 and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.
