We have time and again stood witness to Deepika’s badass side in movies such as xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Ram Leela, and Baji Rao Mastani, This time around we will be able to see her transitioning into a don of the 80s in a fully-fledged role for Vishal Bhardwaj’s biopic on Sapna Didi aka Rahima Khan. Deeps will be playing the character of a woman who sought revenge from one of the biggest real-life gangsters in India.
The film is based on journalist-turned-author S Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai which is all set to star Khan opposite Deepika as her love interest supporting her in a mission.
The duo’s chemistry together will definitely be a departure from what we saw of their screen presence in Piku and it is extremely exciting to audiences that Deepika is turning it up a notch through her attempt to essay a dark and defined role.
Sapna Didi is ready for release on October 2, 2018.
