PTCL customers in panic after fiber cuts slow down internet across Pakistan

KARACHI – The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is facing major technical issues in its fibre optics that caused a massive Internet blackout across the country on Wednesday.

Internet speed across Pakistan plummeted by nearly 70 per cent following a major technical issue.

The damage mainly affected Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and its sister company Ufone, with users experiencing service outages in various parts of Pakistan.

The main cities affected include Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad along with several others.

In a tweet, the PTCL confirmed that its services were impacted and they were working to restore them.

The company also apologised to its customers for inconvenience, appealing to show patience.

For now PTCL and Ufone users are facing slow or no browsing nationwide. It will reportedly take 6 to 10 hours to restore the services.
