High-level reshuffle in the Army, new DG ISPR appointed

RAWALPINDI – The Pakistan Army on Thursday has carried out a major reshuffle at key positions, resulting in the promotions transfers of seven major generals. As a result, Major General Asif Ghafoor has been appointed as the new director general (DG) for Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), replacing Lt Gen Asim Bajwa.

Major General Asif Ghafoor is presently commanding a division in Swat.

The following have been promoted:

  1. Major General Abdullah Dogar will now assume the position of Commandant PMA.
  2. Major General Syed Adnan will now assume the position of GOC at Lahore.
  3. Major General Fida Malik will now assume the position of DG Logistics at GHQ
  4. Major General Zafarullah Khan will now assume the position of GOC at Panu Aqil
  5. Major General Nadir Khan will now assume the position of DG Personnel Services and Provost Marshal (PS&PM) at GHQ
  6. Major General Zafar Iqbal will now assume the position of GOC armour division at Gujranwala

The appointments come as the army is undergoing major reshuffling and promotions.
