Interview with Zuher Khan - The award winning producer and actor from Hollywood
NEW YORK - Zuher Khan made his debut in the Hollywood industry with "3 Holes And A Smoking Gun" opposite Golden Globe Winner actor Joaquim de Almeida. The film and the actor, both went onto winning multiple prestigious awards including Best Actor 2015 at the "Winter Film Awards", Best U.S Narrative Feature Film 2014 "Laughlin International Film Festival", Grand Jury Prize and Best Actor 2014 "Red Dirt International Film Festival", and many more.

Our team at Daily Pakistan sat down with this talented young man to talk one on one about Zuher's aspirations and future perspectives.

What’s your true inspiration in life and in the film industry?

My true inspiration would be my parents & making films, aspiring be to be the best I can be every day of every hour of every second.

How difficult was it to cast one of the leading actors of Hollywood for your first film?

Not very difficult at all. The difficult aspect  is finding talent that properly fits the character the writer has written. Being a producer it is very necessary to attain talent that can really shine on screen and make the script/story an award winning venture.

How do you take criticism?

I love it, bring it on.

Who is Zuher Khan in his ‘me-time’?

Someone who always has a keen eye on making his next film great.

Your journey from a kid to an award winning film producer & actor?

I started my career as a hobby when I signed to my first talent manager Tobe Gibson, she was great. After she passed away I took a career hiatus and then decided to produce my first film. The journey has certainly been a very humble and great experience. The film won 9 awards & took 6 nominations home for it. I look back and am very grateful. I thank all the various judges, jury members & film festivals across The United States for all the love and prestige but most importantly for accepting my film & making it into a tremendous success.

A hard core producer or an actor and why?

I love both aspects of making film to such a tremendous degree that I enjoy both. If I'm acting I'm producing, if I'm not acting I'm still producing.

A topic/genre you really want to work on?

Being someone who has grown up with Marvel & DC Comics I really enjoy watching their films. I would love to explore & produce an action genre film or a sci-fi thriller.

Tell us about the projects/documentary you currently working on. What is it about and your expectations with it?

Right now I'm producing a documentary film which will star an amazing ensemble cast just as my previous film did. The documentary is about Hollywood and features actors & actresses that have been around the industry. The expectations are the same as my first film, that everyone just appreciates the work of the talent and crew.

Any plans to work in Pakistan in the near future?

Sure, would be great fun.

Do you follow any Pakistani film actor/actress? Your views about Lollywood?

Sure, I think Nadeem Baig & Saba Hameed are great talents.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Making another great film.

Zuher is currently working on his second project and we simply cannot wait for it! All the good luck to you, may you reach the stars in no time!
