ISLAMABAD – The Rawalpindi branch of National Accountability Bureau has recovered millions of rupees and returned it to Shaheen Foundation Managing Director Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Jamshed Khan.
NAB Rawalpindi successfully pursued the management of Al-Hamra Pvt Ltd and Eden Builders Pvt Ltd to realise the recovery of Rs1832.168 million through its chief executive and others.
The subject accused had not only failed to hand over the plots but also sold the land to other parties, depriving the members of Shaheen Foundation from their hard earned money. During the inquiry, the sponsors showed willingness in writing to return Rs573 million as a profit in addition to the principal amount.
In first phase, an amount of Rs366 million has already been returned to the affected members of M/s Shaheen Foundation; Rs50m in second phase; Rs117.5m in third phase; while in fourth and fifth phase, Rs137m has been returned.
NAB-Rawalpindi Director General Irfan Naeem Mangi said that in light of the directions of Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal, the anti-corruption watchdog strongly believes in zero tolerance policy against corruption.
NAB’s Anti-corruption campaign is carried widely for awareness and prevention of corruption besides enforcement across the board, he added.
