Accountability Court extends Aleem Khan’s physical remand for 10 days

LAHORE – An Accountability Court in Lahore has extended Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan’s physical remand for ten days on Friday.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials have presented Aleem Khan before the court and requested to extend Aleem Khan’s physical remand.

Aleem was presented before the court in beefed up security.

Earlier, the PTI leader was arrested in connection with offshore companies scandal.

The NAB had summoned Aleem Khan at Lahore office for interrogation where the investigation officials were reportedly not satisfied with the records provided by him.

Aleem was detained by the anti-corruption watchdog for owning assets beyond means and offshore companies.

On February 7, the court sent him on a nine-day physical remand in NAB’s custody.

The NAB authorities were ordered to present the former minister on February 15.

Abdul Aleem Khan stepped down as Punjab Minister for Local Government following his arrest.

According to a NAB spokesperson, the arrest was made in light of the Panamagate investigation, adding that the PTI leader misused his authority as a lawmaker for his Parkview Housing Society. Aleem owns huge assets inside the country and overseas.
