NEW DELHI (Web Desk) – Kangana Ranaut, an Indian film star, spoke that she was physically abused and hit by someone from the film industry in her early days. However, She did not name anybody.
She said this at the launch of journalist Barkha Dutt’s book, The Unquiet Land on Thursday. The actress spoke about the time when she was physically abused and hit by a certain someone from the industry.
Here’s what she said, according to Indian Express: “It was a very difficult and very harsh time. I was physically abused. I don’t have to go to details. I felt trapped. You feel people might help you. But there are no free lunches”.
She went on to describe what happened: “This man who was my father’s age hit me hard on my head when I was 17. I started bleeding. I took out my sandal and hit his head hard and he started to bleed too”.
Kangana also revealed that she lodged an FIR against him, but he was not punished – he was just warned.
