Maids get away with cash and jewelry after drugging Wasim Akram’s mother

LAHORE – In a highly organized manner, maids at former skipper Wasim Akram’s house in Garden Town area got away with Rs42,000 in cash and jewelry worth of millions, police said on Tuesday.

Imaan and Fatima, working as part of the household staff at the cricketer’s house, also drugged the Akram’s mother before sneaking out with cash and gold ornaments.

The Garden Town Police have taken the cricketer’s driver into custody.

Akram’s mother told the media that her recollection of the incident was hazy but that she remembered the two women taking nine gold bangles and some rings off the lady’s hands.

She demanded the women be arrested as soon as possible.

Further investigation is in process.
