RAJANPUR (Staff Report) – The military finally launched its operation against gangsters hiding in Katcha areas of Punjab’s Rajanpur district, DG ISPR Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa said.
Lt-Gen Bajwa said that army troops took over charge of the operation Zarb-e-Aahan in Katcha areas, he said in a statement on Twitter.

He said that Army troops reinforced its cordon around hideouts of Chotu gang and his armed accomplices.
The DG ISPR said that police and Rangers already involved in the operation will continue to participate under Army.
“Whatever resources required, will be employed to accomplish mission and updated Info about the operation will be shared regularly,” he added.

The Punjab government asked for support from Pakistan army after several failed attempts by the police to overcome the notorious Chotu gang.
Six policemen were killed and 25 others were held hostage by the gangsters during the multiple police operations.
