Taking notice of the issue, the Vice Chancellor Dr Jahan Bakht suspended the Chief Proctor Hazrat Bilal and withdrew the notification.
The move comes a day after the proctor issued a notification, barring all male and female students of University of Swat from sitting or walking together within the campuses or outside the campuses.
“If any student male or female found sitting or walking together in the campus or outside, a penalty ranging from Rs50 to Rs5000 will be imposed and an emergency meeting will be called with their parents,” the notification said.
The vice chancellor said that there was no ban on co-education in the University of Swat.
