WUZHEN (Staff Report) – President Mamnoon Hussain Wednesday held bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Chinese city of Wuzhen.
Mamnoon Hussain is in China to attend the 2nd World Internet Conference which starts later this day.
According to a statement the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest which was further followed by a round of delegation level talks were also held between the two countries.
In a statement, Pakistan Ambassador to China Masood Khalid said Pakistan’s highest level participation in the Wuzhen Summit is a reflection of Pak-China growing strategic, economic and political convergence of interests.
He said with the implementation of CPEC projects on a fast track, Pak-China relationship is gaining newer heights.
The internet conference aims to serve as a platform for building a cyberspace community of shared destiny, advocate worldwide respect for diversity and to forge consensus and confronting risks to cyber security jointly.
Opening the conference, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for making more efforts for strengthening internet to avoid cybercrime.
President Mamnoon Hussain’s participation in the Conference will help Pakistan address its cyber security issues and enhance cooperation for beneficial use of internet technology.
