LAHORE (Online) – The death toll from swine flu has climbed to 12 across Punjab including Rawalpindi, which is reported to be worst hit with four casualties.
According to Punjab Director-General (Health) Dr Amjid Shahzad the swine flu has so far claimed 12 lives across Punjab province including four deaths each in Rawalpindi and Multan, two in Lahore and two each in Muzaffargarh and Chakwal.
Meanwhile Sultan, 35, from Dera Ismail Khan died of seasonal influenza in Nishtar Hospital Multan on Saturday. Three seasonal influenza patients had been rushed to the Nishtar Hospital Multan the other day, where Sultan died during treatment while two female patients, Aqsa and Azra were discharged after they were treated.
The virus was likely to die down due to the recent rain, the DG health said.
