According to a statement posted on official WhatsApp blog, video calling feature would be available to one billion users in coming days.

One of the biggest advantages that video calling on WhatsApp has is that it is cross-platform as opposed to its rival Apple’s FaceTime which works on just iOS devices additionally video calls made through WhatsApp are fully encrypted.
