WASHINGTON (Web Desk) – The White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest has confirmed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and US President Barack Obama will take up the proposed nuclear deal between Pakistan and United States during the next week’s meeting.
Speaking at a briefing Earnest however added that both leaders are not expected to sign the final nuclear deal on the occasion.
“The United States and Pakistan are regularly engaged in a dialogue about the importance of nuclear security. And I would anticipate that dialogue would include conversations between the leaders of our two countries,” he said.
Earlier reports in US media claimed that during the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif the United States may offer a deal to Pakistan that may pave the way for country’s acceptance in the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), as a similar deal United States did for India.
The prime minister is scheduled to arrive in the US capital on Oct 20 for a White House meeting with President Obama on Oct 22.
