Pakistan will remain in debt without tax collection: Imran Khan

MURREE (Online) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has Pakistan would remain in debt if taxes were not collected in the country.

Addressing a ceremony in Nathia Gali on Friday, Khan said in free counties peoples’ money is spent on them. “Tax will not be collected in Pakistan until that money is spent on the people.”

Khan added that research proved that tax could not be collected unless people wanted to pay it. “You need to have a carrot and stick approach. There needs to be fear that tax thieves will be sent to prison while at the same time people need to be inspired of the benefits of paying taxes.”

The PTI chairman during the ceremony announced that the rest house of Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be open to public.
