Three missing Karachi schoolgirls recovered, one suspect held

KARACHI – Mystery has been solved as police recovered all the three schoolgirls who went missing in Saudabad locality on Friday.

Police said the girls were recovered during a raid on a house in Liaquatabad area and one suspect Aijaz was also apprehended from the location, reported Geo TV on Sunday.

The students were taken to an unknown location for interrogation, following which they will be handed over to the concerned police station.

“Five boys have been detained by the police in relation to the incident”, said CPLC chief Zubair Habib.

On October 14, when, Bisma, Iqra and Rabiya did not return to their houses, the parents said that they had dropped the girls to the school. However, the school administration said that the girls did not attend school on today.

Later on, the parents lodged the missing complaint. According to the neighbours, one of the missing girls answered the phone call at 5pm but did not talk.

Police officials said that text messages in girls’ mobiles indicated that the boys were in contact with them.

“Apparently it seems that domestic dispute is the motive of the incident,” a police official told media.
