PM Imran for coordinated efforts to curb street crimes in Karachi, recovery of abducted kids

KARACHI – Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday, expressing concerns about the reported surge in street crimes in the Sindh metropolis, called for coordinated efforts to purge the city of criminal activities.

Chairing a meeting on law and order situation in Karachi at the State Guest House, the prime minister took strong exception to cases of abduction of kids in the city.

He also sought coordinated action against the criminals and called for the urgent recovery of the children and provide relief to the parents.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza, Director General Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Major General Mohammad Saeed, Sindh Chief Secretary Azam Suleiman Khan and Inspector General of Police Kaleem Imam and other civil officials concerned attended the meeting.

The chief secretary gave a detailed briefing on the law and order situation in the province in general and Karachi in particular, which followed a presentation by the DG Rangers- Sindh on the Karachi operation.

The prime minister appreciated measures being taken for cleanliness in the metropolis. He directed to expedite the efforts being made to provide the much-needed relief to the masses.

Earlier accompanied by the Sindh governor and chief minister, the prime minister planted a sapling on the premises of the State Guest House. He also held a joint meeting with the two.
