ATTOCK (Web Desk) – The findings of initial investigation into the deadly suicide attack on Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada reveal that there may be two men who executed the bombings using 15 kilograms of explosives.
According to the findings, one of the attackers entered his office, shook hands with him and then stood beside a pillar of the veranda and detonated the explosives strapped to his body. He used 4-5 kilograms of explosives.
One more explosion happened outside the office. The second explosion was carried out by the second terrorist out on the street behind the office which made its roof to cave in on the people present inside, Geo News reported.
The suicide bomber on the outside used 10 kilograms of explosives. It was a powerful blast, shredding a cow walking past the bomber. Its flesh was found littered in a wide of radius of 100 metres.
The investigation is inconclusive whether the second blast was carried out by a man outside or the cow which might have been strapped with explosives.
The findings also state that the attackers had not just come to kill the people present inside the office but to destroy the building as well.
Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada and his three companions received severe burn injuries and a big part of his body suffered badly as a result of an 8-tonne piece of roof collapsing on him.
His body was damaged beyond recognition and identified by his shoes and waistcoat. The body was in such a bad shape that even his postmortem could not be performed.
