LAHORE (Staff Report) – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that there is no other option for getting justice for victims of the Model Town shooting except seeking Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Raheel Sharif’s help.
Addressing a sit-in at Mall Road in Lahore to mark the second death anniversary of the Model Town shooting victims, Qadri said that PM Nawaz Sharif and Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif were the main culprits of the tragedy. He said that no institution of the country except the Raheel Shairf-led Army could provide them justice. “The case of the massacre was registered after the intervention of the COAS and now he should come forward to provide us justice,” the PAT chief said.
Earlier, the PAT chief had said that the duration of the party’s sit-in would depend upon government’s attitude, adding that if the state used violence to break the gathering up then the sit-in would be prolonged indefinitely.
