Church blast victims laid to rest amid tight security

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Victims of Youhanabad twin blasts were laid to rest, on Tuesday , two days after the deadly attacks on two churches of the area, reported local media.

Strict security measures were taken on the occasion.

As many as 5,000 policemen, according to DIG operations Haider Asharaf, have been deployed in the region whereas a large number of Rangers was also on duty.

Earlier two bombers had detonated themselves just outside of two churches in Youhanabad and killed at least16 people while injuring many others. The tragedy sparked anger among the Christian community.

Punjab government called in the Rangers to control the situation.
