Terrorists killed in Khyber Agency air strikes: ISPR

RAWALPINDI – Forces conducted an operation in Rajgal valley of Khyber Agency late Thursday night, killing “several” terrorists, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to ISPR, the action was taken on a tip-off regarding presence of Lashkar-e-Islam chief Mangal Bagh.

Militants still maintain some hideouts close to the Pak-Afghan border. The anti-terror operation has squeezed some militants groups into small pockets of territory, while others have fled over the border into lawless areas of eastern Afghanistan.

Earlier today two officials of the Frontier Constabulary were martyred in an attempted terrorist attack on an FC checkpost in Khyber Agency. Six terrorists were killed in retaliatory fire by FC soldiers, ISPR informed.

Another terrorist attack was also foiled at an FC training centre in Charsadda earlier today. One FC soldier embraced martyrdom while another soldier was injured when suicide bombers stormed an FC training centre located in Shabqadar in Charsadda tehsil.

FC soldiers, in retaliatory fire, killed two suicide bombers, foiling their suicide bombing bid, ISPR stated.
