Country to remain steeped in hot weather

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Most parts of the country remained in the grip of a severe heatwave on Tuesday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next 12 hours.

This pattern of extreme weather is expected to continue over the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sibi and Makran.

The Meteorology Dept. has warned about very hot and dry weather during the coming week all over the country, with day temperatures likely to cross over 45°C in the plain areas of Punjab, KP and Sindh.

Temperatures in the central parts of the provinces are likely to touch a critical level of 52°C.

Temperatures in mountainous areas of GB and AJK will also rise by 4-5°C above average resulting in rapid melting of snow and glaciers.

Unscheduled load shedding added to the woes of the heat-stricken people. Frequent outages also caused severe water shortage in various parts of the city.

However, light rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas.
