KOLKATA (Staff Report) – West Indies’ batsman Chris Gayle, who is globally known for aggressive batting style, compared his Royal Challengers Banglore mates, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, with superheroes when asked to comment about their recent performances at Indian Premier League (IPL).
In Monday’s game against Kolkata Knight Riders, the RCB skipper, Virat Kohli, not only led his side to a 9-wicket victory but also broke Chris Gayle’s record of most runs in the T20 league.
Addressing a press conference after the match, Gayle said “Ab de Villiers and Virat Kohli are just playing like Superman and Batman.”
He further added that both of the batsmen are in their best form and should continue to perform well for RCB in this edition of IPL.
When asked about his own performance, Gayle smiled while uttering “Inshallah.” Yes, I am sure, next two game are really important for our team and we expect the best, he said.
To another question, the star cricketer said that if RCB could somehow make into the playoffs, it would pose other teams a serious challenge.
It is also relevant to be mentioned here that Chris Gayle has merely scored 32 runs in last eight matches at IPL, while RCB skipper Virat Kohli is the highest run scorer of the league.
