ISLAMABAD – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will address a Joint Session of Parliament on Thursday (today).
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived Pakistan on a two-day visit at the invitation of President Mamnoon Hussain. Mr Erdogan, accompanied by his wife Emine and a high-level delegation, received a warm welcome on his arrival.
His address to the joint session of Pakistan’s parliament reflects the deep and warm fraternal ties between the two significant Muslim countries.
Though President Erdogan had been to Pakistan on a number of occasions, but the current one is his first bilateral visit to Pakistan since assuming the office of the President of Turkey and after the Turkey’s botched coup.
Both countries enjoyed close and warm ties spanning over the regional and international issues.
The leadership in Pakistan and Turkey remained strongly committed to further deepening and strengthening this bilateral relationship in all fields.
Earlier, president Mamnoon met his Turkish counterpart at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. They both urged the need for further strengthening of ties between the two countries.
Erdogna would be heading to Lahore after the address where he would met Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
