EDINBURGH (Web Desk) – Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Edinburgh for his outstanding contribution in the field of philanthropy, humanitarianism and his global popularity as an actor.
Bollywood’s King Khan received the degree on Thursday.
The 49-year-old celebrity, who has appeared in more than 80 films, also expressed his excitement for the degree on micro-blogging website Twitter.

“It is a pleasure to be honoured by the University of Edinburgh and tread in the footsteps of so many of the world’s illustrious thinkers, leaders and personalities to have the opportunity to address one of the most esteemed educational institutions in the world is a special moment,” said Shah Rukh after receiving the degree.
