NAB s string-puller not yet born, vows chairman Javed Iqbal

ISLAMABAD – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal has said that any person who could pull NAB’s strings has not been born yet, in a matchless show of resisting any pressure in days to come.

In an informal discussion with reporters, as he headed to brief the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly, the NAB chief said that if someone starts to pull the bureau’s strings, he (NAB chairman) would pick up his briefcase and leave.

The NAB head asserted that the anti-corruption inquiries by the bureau would be completed swiftly and properly.

In response to a query, the chairman of accountability watchdog said the bureau has no concern with the timings of upcoming general elections.

‘If someone has done corruption then he or she is answerable before and after the elections’, he clarified.

The NAB chief also said that it was not his job to stop former prime minister Nawaz Sharif from leaving the country with accountability court proceedings underway.

In his briefing to the PAC, the NAB chief has given an overview of the ongoing inquiries and investigations of the bureau.
