Steps being taken to prevent smuggling on Pak-Afghan border, Senate told

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Balighur Rehman Friday told Senate that frequent combat patrolling is carried out along the Pak-Afghan border to prevent smuggling and infiltration of militants.

Responding to different questions in the upper house of parliament, he said that a number of steps have been taken by Frontier Corps Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to check infiltration of terrorists from Afghanistan into Pakistan.

He pointed out that construction of 453 kilometers of obstacles like anti-smuggling ditch to stop human and vehicle movement has been carried out.

He told that communication posts have been installed on important communication links to check illegal immigrants and miscreants.

He said integrated transit trade management system is being installed to check smuggling.
