LAHORE (Web Desk) – The initial investigative report into Lahore’s Police Lines blast, submitted to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday by IG Punjab Police Mushtaq Sukhera and Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada, says the attackers intended to attack a police van or a top police official.
They had inspected the site hours before the staged the attack, it added.
A suicide bomber blew himself up outside the police headquarters here on Tuesday, killing at least five people and injuring 26 others. A splinter group of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed the responsibility for what it called a reprisal attack for the execution of its operatives.
