Dense fog blankets parts of Punjab as mercury drops further

LAHORE – Thick fog enveloped various areas of Punjab on Wednesday morning as the weather turned frosty disrupting the lives of citizens.

The flow of traffic was disrupted due to fog as motorway was closed from Sheikhupura to Pindi Bhattian to avoid any mishap. The National Highway also experienced an interruption in the traffic system.

Commuters have been advised to use special yellow-coloured fog lights to enhance visibility.

In Lahore, the temperature dropped to 6°C on Tuesday night.

During the last 12 hours, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Kohat and Quetta divisions received rain with thunderstorm.

According to met office, the current rain spell is expected to continue until Wednesday in most parts of the country whereas foggy conditions are expected in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours.

Lahore 11 °C, Islamabad 12 °C, Peshawar 8 °C, Quetta 1 °C, Skardu -4 °C, Parachinar 2 °C
