ISLAMABAD – A day after Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) along with opposition parties staged an anti-govt rally in Lahore, the federal government had decided to put the name of Tahirul Qadri on Exit Control List (ECL).

Media reports suggest that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday chaired a meeting, which was attended by Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and adviser to the prime minister on finance Miftah Ismail.
The decision is being taken in the light of cases against Qadri regarding violence in 2014-sit-in as an anti-terrorism court has declared him a proclaimed offender for not attending the court hearings.
PTI chief Imran Khan and Qadri, face charges of damaging property in the Red Zone, attacking the state TV channel’s building and injuring SSP Junejo during the 2014 protest.
Imran Khan and other PTI leaders have been granted bail in these cases after they surrendered before the crout.
