Yasir Shah tops latest ICC ranking

DUBAI (Staff Report) – After picking ten wickets in the first Test against England, Pakistani leg-spinner, Yasir Shah, has been ranked number one among Test bowlers, according to the latest list released by International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday.

Apart from Yasir Shah, none Pakistani bowler was included in the top Test bowlers. He was followed by India’s Ravichandran Ashwin. Meanwhile, England’s James Anderson, who missed the first Test against Pakistan, grabbed the third slot.

On the other hand, Pakistani skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, after scoring a century against England, also jumped to number nine in the Test batsmen ranking. The list was topped by Australia’s Steve Smith while New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Hashim Amla of South Africa were ranked number two and three respectively.

Younis was another Pakistani batsman to secure position among top ten Test batsmen. He was ranked number seven.

According to the Test teams ranking, Pakistan was currently present at number three as Australia tops the list and India is ranked number two.

It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that Pakistan can jump to the second position in the ICC ranking by winning the ongoing four-match Test series against England. Pakistan is currently leading the series with 1-0.
