LAHORE (Staff Report) -Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has tasked Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to put an end to growing difference in party ranks, issue a clear message that elements who brought intra-party rifts in public will not be spared.
Addressing a high level meeting in Raiwind, the Prime Minister went on to say that discussion on party’s internal affairs in public will only weaken the PML-N and provide a chance to opponents to exploit our weaknesses.
He further advised all party leaders to approach the central party leadership if they have any misgivings.
During the meeting the results in NA-122, NA-144 and PP-144 by-polls were also reviewed. The premier expressed unhappiness towards party’s defeat in PP-147 by-election.
Party’s preparations for upcoming local bodies election in Punjab and Sindh also came under discussion.
Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman and heads of different federal and provincial departments attended the meeting.
