United States made no demands ahead of PM Nawaz s trip: FO

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistani foreign office on Sunday said that United States made no demands prior to the tour of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that begins from October 20.

In a statement the spokesman said that Pakistan has never compromised on its sovereignty and national interest, and the prime minister has always upheld the independent foreign policy of the country. Prime minister’s tour is to enhance the bilateral cooperation with United States, he said.

He further added that US president Barack Obama had invited the premier to visit White House during August this year.

According to the spokesman Nawaz Sharif will leave for United States on Monday (October 19) and conclude the tour on October 23. He will meet the US president on October 22.
