Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said Pakistan wants to further strengthen partnership with the United States to enhance bilateral trade and economic relations.
Talking to US Trade Representative Ambassador Michael Froman in Islamabad , he said the United States is the biggest trade partner of Pakistan and both the countries will look for new dimensions of trade.
Nawaz Sharif said increase in bilateral trade volume is in the best interest of the people of the two countries.
He said Pakistan has taken effective measures for the protection of intellectual property rights, which led to removal of Pakistan’s name from US watch list of the intellectual property rights’ list.
Nawaz Sharif said foreign companies are earning profit by investing in Pakistan. He said growing foreign investment indicates increasing opportunities in Pakistan.
Michael Froman said law and order situation has significantly improved in Pakistan, which provides friendly environment for foreign investment. He said growth rate of 4.7 indicates revival of economy in Pakistan. He said sustainable policies of the government are contributing to improvement in the economy.
He lauded reduction in inflation and increase in foreign exchange reserves are big achievements of the government.
