Nation remembers Ustad Amanat Ali Khan on 44th death anniversary

LAHORE – Subcontinent is the land of culture, history and artistic background. Many artists aroused from this rich cultural land and gave an identity to the people of this area.

One of the great artists of Subcontinent was classical singer Ustad Amanat Ali Khan. The late singer belonged to Patiala Gharana and is one of the most renowned singers in the history of Pakistan.

Today marks the 44th death anniversary of legendary classical singer Ustad Amanat Ali Khan is being observed.  Countless classical singers and showbiz personalities of today remember Khan and his art. They believe his name will always shine due to his sweet, melodious voice.

Amanat Ali Khan was born in 1932 in Sham Chaurasi, Hoshiarpur, Punjab. Soon after independence, he moved to Pakistan. The ‘ghazals’ sung by him aired by Radio Pakistan Lahore Station had become quite popular among the public.

The late 1950s and early 1960s witnessed the rise of the seraphic singer. He was an immaculate singer, who added more shine and prestige to the Patiala Gharana, the family that was sworn to carry on the traditional and classical aura of Hindustani music. He was conferred with the ‘Pride of Performance’ award by the Government of Pakistan.
